RESEARCH PROJECTS
CENTRE FOR THE DECENTRALISED DIGITAL ECONOMY

Launched in October 2020, DECaDE is a 5 year National Research Centre exploring how emerging data technologies such as Distributed Ledger Technology (aka `Blockchain’) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) could transform our digital economy through decentralised platforms.

Our research projects are co-created with DECaDE project partners in industry either directly or mediated via workshops periodically organised via our partners at the Digital Catapult. We will be running the first of these workshops in January 2021, focusing on the creative sector. If you are interested in attending and co-creating a project with us and our partners, then please get in touch for further details. You can read more on DECaDE’s research theme with the creative sector.

FIGHTING FAKE NEWS

DECaDE are exploring the potential for emerging technologies such as DLT and AI in determining the provenance of media encountered online. We are engaged in a socio-technical study of COVID-19 vaccination misinformation with Surrey Business School.

SUPPLY CHAIN VISIBILITY

DECaDE is exploring applications of DLT to supply chain visibility that co-creates value for individuals, organisations and society. With increasingly complex supply chains the ability to monitor inter-organizational activities has become progressively more difficult.
